Images from pdf to jpg. How to save a pdf file as an image. Simple and convenient converter

Question from a user

Hello.

Please tell me how I can convert my document from PDF format to JPG images. If possible, I would like to do this work in some program (it’s just that there is no Internet on the work computer (if only distributed from the phone)).

Thanks in advance, Alexandra.

Hello.

In general, if you have not too large and complex PDF documents, then the problem can be solved fairly quickly. Below in the article I will give several working options that I often use myself...

Might come in handy!

PDF to WORD (DOCX): 10 conversion methods -

Option 1: Automatically convert all document pages

The first method, in my opinion, is one of the most convenient and fastest. No matter how many sheets you have in the document, each of them will be automatically converted to a JPG image (the names of the received pictures will also be given automatically).

You can do this using a free utility (I previously recommended it on the blog). In general, this program allows you to open and process a large set of office documents: PDF, DjVu, XPS, TIFF, TXT, BMP, GIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, etc. An indispensable office assistant!

Below I will consider it directly PDF conversion in JPG.

1) After installing and launching the program, click on the menu "File/Open" (or the Ctrl+O button combination, see screenshot below). Next, select your PDF file.

2) When the file is opened, go to the menu again "File" and select a function "Export -> as image" .

3) Then you need to set the following parameters:

  1. file type: JPEG (several formats available to choose from: JPEG, GIF, BMP, etc.);
  2. resolution: 600 DPI (this directly affects the quality of the resulting images, so it’s better to set it to the maximum);
  3. exported pages: All;
  4. directory: where the received images will be saved.

4) Export time depends on the size of the document being processed and the performance of your PC. Usually, all this happens quite quickly (1-5 minutes for an average book...).

Option 2: processing complex documents (single sheets)

If you are dealing with large and complexly structured PDF documents, the capabilities of the previous utility may not be enough...

I will show the solution to our problem using one simple example...

1) After launching Libre Office - in the menu on the left, open the tool (however, you can immediately click on the “file/open file” menu and specify the PDF document - Libre Office will automatically determine what to open it in...).

3) Then find the page you want (which you want to convert to JPG), and click on the menu "File/Export" .

Option 3: universal (any document can be converted)

If you have PDF file not broken and it opened for reading in at least one of some programs - consider that converting it to JPG is possible (though if 2 previous programs did not help - the task may become troublesome...).

This is what we're talking about here simple technique, like taking a screenshot of the screen - i.e. first you adjust the display of the page you need, and then click on the button Print Screen and save everything (that was displayed on the screen) into a picture...

I think this method doesn’t need any additional comments (I’ll leave a couple of links on working with screenshots below).

Help!

How to take a screenshot: Windows windows, game screen, frame from a video (including with arrows and explanations) -

Print Screen doesn't work, I can't take a screenshot -

Option 4: working with scans

If you receive PDF files by scanning documents, and then often convert them to image format (JPG), then using the program you can significantly speed up this work.

It allows you not only to directly scan documents, but can also open any previously created files, pictures, scans and convert them to a new format. In addition, with its help you can obtain text from scans and translate it into Word for further processing (a similar task also occurs quite often).

Minus : full version ABBY Fine Reader is quite expensive. Not every PC has the ability to use it...

Option 5: Using a virtual printer

This method is one of the most universal, fast, with a large number of functions and settings (which allows you to get JPG images of the desired size, with cropped edges, with changed geometry, etc.). But before showing an example of work, a few words below...

The bottom line: a special one is installed in the system. driver (this is a virtual printer). It will allow you, when printing from any program, to send files not to a real printer, but to it - and instead of printing, it will simply convert each sheet into the format you need (for example, into the same JPEG). Comfortable? Comfortable!

Main disadvantage: in some cases (rarely) this virtual printer driver may conflict with the real driver. Therefore, I did not put this method in first place. (of course, if you don’t have a printer, then you have nothing to fear...).

I'll show you how to use this program using a simple example.

1) And so, we have a PDF document open in some program. The first thing we need to do is send it to seal(key combination Ctrl+P).

2) In the column "Printer" indicate "Universal Document Converter" (this option should appear after installing the virtual printer). Next, I would recommend going to "Properties" this printer.

3) In the properties you can set enough large number parameters (see example below): I only specified the export format - JPEG.

4) After that, all you have to do is click OK, select the folder (where the JPEG files will be saved) and wait for the operation to complete.

I also cannot help but note that the network now has quite powerful and interesting online services for converting and processing basic document formats, images, videos (including JPG, PDF, etc.). For example, and are not very bad.

True, if you work with documents containing confidential information (which happens often), you still shouldn’t use them (you never know...). But the method itself is quite working and can help out in difficult times (for example, when you don’t have a PC/laptop with the necessary programs at hand).

That's all for now. Additions are welcome...

All the best!

Hello, dear friends! The other day, one of KARTONKINO’s readers expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the templates are posted for download not in JPG format, but in PDF format, which she finds very inconvenient. And, although this is a single signal, I think the problem is worth dwelling on separately. Moreover, in the absence of a graphic editor that supports PDF import (such as Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements), purely technical difficulties arise with editing scan images when you need to decorate them digital method. And the solution to this problem is . Moreover, you can do this quickly and for free in at least three ways.

Generally speaking, I chose the PDF format because of the ability to organize the templates included in a particular set and combine them in one file. This was one of the main reasons. Apparently, no one had any critical difficulties with downloading and using pdf files. If this is still not the case, please let me know.

At the same time, sometimes it is more expedient to upload files for download in jpg format, and I do not neglect this. It is clear that everyone’s habits and ideas about convenience and expediency are different. And the opportunity to choose will not be superfluous. So let's look at how you can convert PDF to JPG.

Method one: using the Adobe Reader pdf reader.

This method can be useful, for example, when you need to edit an image contained in a pdf file in graphic editor, which does not support PDF import. Of course, in this case we are talking about files that are not password protected.

Open the pdf file in Adobe Reader X. In the main menu of the program, select the command “Editing” - “Take a picture” (check the box).

By pressing the left mouse button, drag the cursor and select a sheet of the document. The image will be copied to the clipboard and a message will appear.

After this, in a graphic editor (for example, in the free Paint.NET) we create new document the same format as the original one, that is, A4 (210 x 297 mm), and paste the contents of the clipboard. If necessary, we adjust the image to the size of the canvas in order to maintain all the original proportions and dimensions.

After editing, save the file in any of the graphic formats.

Using this method, you can convert both entire pages of a pdf file and individual fragments of them into graphic formats.

Method two: by using free program PDFCreator (Russian language supported).

PDFCreator is a program designed to create documents in PDF format and, in addition, is capable of creating files in a number of other formats, including graphic ones.

PDFCreator works as a virtual printer. This means that create a file in in the required format can be done from any program that has a print function.

Let's see how it's done. Since our source file is in PDF format, we will open it in Adobe Reader (or any other program for PDF reader).

Run the “Print” command. From the list of printers, select the PDFCreator virtual printer. We also select the page that needs to be converted.

We send it for printing.

PDFCreator works in 2 stages: first it creates a document in Postscript (.ps) format, and then prints it to a file of the specified format. Usually the transition to the second stage is automatic. In this case this did not happen, but this is not a big deal. You must launch PDF Print Monitor (from the PDFCreator folder - PDFCreator.exe - or from the Windows Start menu)

and add the created file with the extension “.ps” to the print queue.

After this, the following dialog box will open.

Here you can (but not necessarily) fill in the empty fields. Click “Settings” and select JPEG from the list of formats.

We set the required resolution and compression quality values, save the settings and click “Save”.

In the window that appears, select the JPEG format and save the file.

Single-page PDF files (or multi-page ones, when only the first page is needed) do not even need to be opened in Adobe Reader; you can directly add them to the print queue (PDF Print Monitor) and perform the manipulations described above.

DOWNLOAD PDFCreator

Method three: using free online converter pdf2jpg.net.

This method is the most basic. It does not require installation of any programs for reading pdf files or any converters on your computer.

Open the online converter website pdf2jpg.net and download the pdf file from your computer.

We set the JPG quality - good (Good) or excellent (Excellent). You can also specify your e-mail to receive a notification about the completion of the conversion (this option is optional).

Click the “Convert PDF to JPG” button. The result will be 1 or several (if the source file is multi-page) jpg files, which can be downloaded individually or in an archive.

Everything is extremely simple.

Go to pdf2jpg.net

I hope the methods discussed above will help you expand your capabilities when working with PDF files.

Thank you for your attention! And see you again in KARTONKINO!
