Installation of repeaters. Network expansion using a repeater - connection, configuration, signal amplification. Briefly about repeater amplification

Step-by-step photo report on how to install LED repeaters in mirrors on a Chevrolet Lacetti. The article will be aimed at Chevrolet Lacetti owners and partly at those who plan to install such repeaters on their car, the principle will be the same, the differences will only be in the disassembly process.

Where it all started... Not long ago, while looking through various car parts on Ebay, I came across this.

LED turn signals in arrow-shaped mirrors.

This is how the idea of installing them in a car came up, after which I began the process itself. I will describe it in general terms. Let's take the analysis of the driver's mirror as a basis.

First of all, we need to separate the mirror mounting frame from the body (fixed with 4 latches), then we need to separate the mirror itself from the frame, for which we heat the latter with a hairdryer (in order to make the plastic elastic).

Our mirrors are heated, and therefore they have heating element(in the form of a film with stripes) on the reverse side, and the arrow itself must be installed under it. In this case, to separate the film, we also resort to heating it with a hairdryer. And carefully, prying the film with some sharp object, peel it off. We fix the arrow in the required place, and insulate the arrow contacts, since they are open, with electrical tape.

Then we glue the film (heating element) back on top of the arrow. At this moment, it is worth checking the installation process for errors by simply connecting the arrow to the battery.

Next comes the assembly process. To do this, you should put the frame on the mirror again. After this, you need to stretch the wires in the mirror by removing the mirror in the housing from the door (remove the trim from the interior, disconnecting the chips and unscrewing three bolts), then separate the mirror holder from the housing (unscrew the three screws) and then stretch the wire through the mirror itself.

It is better to supply power from the turn signal on the wing. To do this, you need to remove the turn signal and power our wires.

You should also use a rigid wire through the wing (inside it) to stretch the wires to the door.

To prevent the wire from hanging anywhere, it is better to pass it through the door through a rubber corrugation.

Having removed the door trim in advance, we stretch the wire through the door to the outside mirror.

We connect our wires and get the result!

The process itself takes about 3 hours of work, but it is very easy to do on your own.

The light is more than good, it doesn’t blind in the dark, but it’s distracting out of habit. The heating at the point where the pointer is installed will be slightly weakened, but this is not critical. Despite the fact that I myself understand that all this is pampering, it still looks cool.

A Wi-Fi repeater (also called a repeater or repeater) is a wireless device used to extend network coverage. With it you can connect to wireless Internet in places with poor signal reception from the router. In this case, the repeater will receive the router’s signal and relay it to clients on the local network.

Selecting a repeater installation location

Maximum repeater efficiency is achieved when installed at the border of stable Wi-Fi reception from the router. When choosing a location, consider the layout of the room in which the repeater will be used. You should also pay attention to the location of wireless gadgets from which you will connect and access the Internet.

When searching for the optimal location to install a repeater, measure the access speed. To do this, you can use online services, for example, Speedtest. For installing repeaters, the same recommendations apply as for others. wireless devices. Do not place the repeater near large electrical appliances that may interfere with network operation. If antennas are present, point them perpendicular to the plane in which radio waves are required to propagate.

Enabling a Wi-Fi Repeater

Most repeaters have a built-in power supply, so they are plugged directly into an outlet. This design allows you to get rid of unnecessary wires, since a cable connection between the power supply and the device is not required. The downside is reduced mobility. Installing the repeater at a significant height is only possible when using an extension cord or moving the socket.

To turn on the device, simply plug it into a power outlet. Almost all models of repeaters start working immediately after the power supply starts. But if your device has a separate power button, press it. The start of work is signaled by LEDs on the housing. The meanings of the various indication modes (continuous light or flickering) can be clarified in the instructions.

Pay attention! Some repeaters are equipped with one or more connectors for connecting network cable. With their help, you can connect to the Internet on computers that are not equipped with a Wi-Fi module.

Connection using WPS

If there is a WPS button on the device, press it to activate the Wi-Fi connection mode without selecting a network and entering a password. After this, press the same button on the router no later than two minutes after turn on Wi-Fi Protected Setup. If the signal is normal and there are no technical difficulties, the repeater will connect to wireless network and will begin to duplicate it.

Some routers do not have such a button. To connect to them via WPS, use the router configuration web interface. You can open it in any browser by typing address bar Router IP address. As a rule, it is indicated on a separate sticker located on the bottom panel of the device. The same sticker contains login information: the name of the standard account and password.

Advice! Connection is also possible by entering the repeater PIN code in the admin panel of the router. The code can be found on the box or a separate insert.

Setting up a repeater via the web interface

Specify additional options or you can configure the network when using a router without WPS in the repeater’s administrative interface. As with the router’s web interface, login and configuration are performed through a browser. Authorization data is also indicated on the sticker, insert or in the instructions.

Good day everyone! I want to tell you about installing a set of repeaters in the mirrors on the Lada Priora 2. After purchasing the Priora, there were ordinary black mirrors, inconspicuous, without repeaters. I wanted to convert it to SE, but I didn’t want to change the mirrors themselves, since these ones already have heating and electrical adjustment, and the price of new mirrors was steep. Remembering the online store site where I constantly order spare parts, I immediately started searching and found what I needed, namely a conversion kit at a fairly reasonable price. After reading the reviews, I decided that I needed to take it. I ordered it right away in color and with plugs for the fender, and also included wiring.

Delivery was transport company, the quality of the pads themselves is excellent, the packaging too, it came in at its best the gift was a sticker. I took it and away we go!

Installing a set of repeaters in the mirrors of Lada Priora 2:

  1. remove the standard covers on the mirrors by prying them off with a screwdriver or something else sharp;
  2. no matter how you look at it, you have to remove the door trim and mirror caps;
  3. First we install the repeaters themselves with diodes so that the white cable from the repeater looks up at the mirror, and then, applying the cover to the mirror, we simply snap it with hand force;
  4. we lay the wiring in standard places next to the heating wires, everything goes well;
  5. We remember the plus and minus so as not to confuse it: the plus is brown, the mass is naturally black (we don’t confuse), then we pull the wiring through the corrugation in the door into the interior under your feet. The wires are long enough on both sides.
  6. It’s not so easy to pull the wires through the rubber band between the door and the body, but if you try, everything will work out;
  7. You still need to remove the inner plastic threshold. I repeat: since the kit includes repeater plugs for the wing, I removed the standard repeaters, but here, if you wish, you can leave them and just cut into the wiring, I decided not to leave them (otherwise a lot of things blink - like a Christmas tree), and installed plugs in their places;
  8. The adhesive tape is excellent; it grabs quickly and holds tightly, even though it was used outdoors;
  9. I preheated the installation site itself with a hair dryer so that the metal on the wing was warm: after all, it’s winter outside, but in the summer there won’t be any problems;
  10. do not forget to degrease the surface;
  11. I powered the wiring for the repeaters from the standard one that went into the wing, simply pulling it back into the cabin and putting the twists in heat shrink (or on electrical tape - as you like);
  12. We assemble, test and enjoy mirrors with repeaters.

Driving safety always remains a priority for every driver. He is responsible not only for himself, but also for his passengers. “Turn signals” were developed specifically for this purpose. are able to indicate the direction in which they are turning vehicle to optimize vehicle movement. One of the innovations of the “Chinese craftsmen” is a mirror turn repeater. We'll talk about installing it today.

The turn signal on the mirror duplicates the signal indicating the direction of travel

Device base

The installation of such equipment is an original and worthy decoration for the car. Due to its versatility, the repeater can be attached to any vehicle. The turning device is a small plate-shaped device. This textile base is quite durable and equipped with LEDs. There are some model options: mounting in a reflective surface or installing a flexible “signal” on the corners of the mirror. They are inexpensive, but you can make them yourself.

Operating principle

A repeater is attached, responsible for the rear view. They connect to the original turn signals to produce similar information. When the driver turns on the turn signal, the factory and installed devices will display the same data. Duplicating the signal will also add originality appearance car.

There are ready-made models on the market that require only manual installation. But you can make turn signals in the mirrors yourself - this is a fairly easy process that will require:

  • LEDs or ready-made “turns”;
  • scotch;
  • 2 elements causing a resistance of 180 Ohms and 0.5 W;
  • wire 20 cm long;
  • marker for marking;
  • soldering iron

Installation process: detaching

If you are interested in turn signals in mirrors, first you need to dismantle the reflection elements. To detach the reflective surface from the mirror, carefully snap off the fasteners. After this, you need to disassemble this element and the plastic base. Usually the mirror is inserted into a special frame and secured with glue or tape. To do this, you need to heat the surface with a technical hairdryer for five minutes, then the elements should be freely removed.

Marking and power supply

When assembling the device yourself, it is important to correctly indicate the mounting locations for the LEDs. Installation of repeaters in mirrors is done using a marker, which is used to draw a figure of nine circles on the back side of the reflective surface. This number of light bulbs is quite enough to ensure comfortable visibility. After this, the shape is glued to the mirror with tape, and the LEDs are installed. It is important that they are matched in polarity. They need to be attached with the luminous side.

The next step is to solder the wires. To begin with, they are stripped and divided into five veins. Then they need to be twisted together. A resistance of 180 m is soldered one by one to the negative wire. Now it is checked whether there is power.

Cleaning the mirror

In order for the arrow to be visible through the reflective surface, it must be cleaned of excess material. When the entire structure has been checked for functionality, and the markings coincide with the location of the light bulbs, you need to make small holes in the amalgam. LEDs must be clearly visible through the reflective surface. Next, you need to clean the holes with a hacksaw to remove sharp edges. It is important to remember that not all mirrors are made of glass. If the model is made of plastic, it will be enough to lower the resistance to 140 Ohms. In this case, the brightness of the bulbs will be able to pass through the plastic.

Putting it back together

Many people notice that installing turn signals in mirrors creates a loose fit for the LEDs. To do this you need to warm it up with a hairdryer. back panel in places where light bulbs are located. But under no circumstances should you heat the fasteners! After sufficient heating, press the structure against the glass - it will bend a little and connect firmly. After a couple of minutes, you can move on to the last stage.

Wiring

In this process, it is enough to transfer the “minus” to the body, and the “plus” needs to be taken out from the door and connected to the on-board network. After this, the device will be the same as the rear turn signals.

Such manipulations are available to every motorist. By spending a small amount of time, you can get high-quality mirrors with repeaters. This method is completely safe and only requires attention to the stages of work. This way, you will be able to increase your safety on the road yourself, because it is not always possible to notice rear turns. In the case of mirrors, they will always be clearly visible to drivers from behind.

From personal experience I would like to say that a repeater is useful trick. It is unusual for our places, so it is always noticeable, and, therefore, effective.
