The tenth version of the Windows operating system, like any other, has reference materials at its disposal, familiarization with which to obtain information on using the OS and its main functions, although not mandatory, is advisable to study. The help system itself is somewhat different from what was provided for calling it before, that is standard method in the form of pressing the F1 key does not give any result (or rather, a web version of searching for an answer to the last request appears in the browser, which does not always relate to the system). However, you can get help in other simple ways. Today there are at least four of them.

How to Get Help in Windows 10: Search Engine

As is already clear, the standard technique present in previous versions of the system does not work in the tenth modification. Actually, the help section itself has become more interactive and does not contain help files on the hard drive (once upon a time so-called Help files were used).

It is the lack of a help system as such for most users that causes quite serious difficulties in the question of how to get help in Windows 10.

But there are several methods. In the simplest case, you need to access the search by calling up its menu by clicking on the magnifying glass icon located at the bottom left of the panel quick access, or by calling the section by right-clicking on the “Start” button. In the search field, you just need to enter the question of interest, and the system itself will find the most suitable match for the request. But this is too general an option, since in most cases it is not information in the form of some kind of manual that is shown, but an appeal to the corresponding settings of the system itself.

Using the preview section

In the case when you need help in Windows 10, so to speak, in a more complete version, where, for example, innovations or questions about using certain functions or parameters would be described, you should use a different technique.

The help system can be accessed through standard menu“Start”, in which the so-called trusted Windows Store application called “Get Started” is selected. You can also find it through the above search line.

Here you will see the main sections relating to the capabilities of the system or the latest news related to it. But if among the displayed tabs nothing suitable for the user’s question was found, you can again use the search, but in the application itself. To do this, on the left side of the panel there is the same button with a magnifying glass icon, which you need to click and enter a query, after which the most suitable results will be displayed in the program window. Here, by the way, the convenience of work is that you can review articles and watch videos. But, alas, in terms of processing search queries this system also turns out to be far from the best, and in most cases when creating a request like “How to do such and such?” you will not receive an answer to your question.

How do I get help and support on Windows 10 from a service?

In such a situation, you will have to contact Microsoft resources directly. How to get help in Windows 10 in this way? It couldn't be simpler.

First, you need to have a permanent Internet connection. Next, in the “Start” menu, use the service request section technical support Windows Feedback (or find it through a search), create a request (formulate a question), and then click on the continue button. After this, you will need to select the approximate area of the question (operating system, software products Microsoft Corporation, etc.) and the most appropriate method of obtaining a response. After completing all these steps, all that remains is to wait for communication with the operator. In this case, by indicating the specifics of the existing problem, you can obtain objective and most complete information on how to solve or eliminate it.

Using Quick Queries

Finally, the question of how to get help in Windows 10 can be resolved at the level of the computer community. In other words, the request will not be sent to Microsoft services, but to other users of the system, at the moment located on the network.

To access the Start menu, select the quick help section or find it again through the search engine, after which, in fact, this is the inconvenience of this method, you will have to enter the 6-digit security code provided by the corporation to continue. After entering it, you can create a request. Not very convenient, but sometimes quite effective. True, the proposed solutions may differ quite significantly from generally accepted methods for eliminating a particular problem.

Instead of an afterword

As is already clear, the help system of the new OS has literally become more interactive and has simply migrated to the Internet. This is why the standard method does not work. By the way, the outdated application Winhelp32.exe, which could somehow be used in the eighth version, also does not function. Therefore, as they say, we have what we have. By and large, you can even just go to the Microsoft website, where there are also some materials related to Windows 10.

Modern software is highly complex, and therefore operating system, and most of its applications include help systems. Information Windows system is not only a set of help files, but also powerful tool to receive advice and support on any problems that may arise while working with the system.

When working at a computer, every user sometimes needs reference information. Fortunately, if you need help with a particular program, it is usually very easy to find. Most programs have a built-in help function, which is a great place to start, but it's not easy to find everything you need.

Help for everyone software has its own characteristics. Some programs include interactive manuals, with easy navigation, menus, etc. Others simply contain a link to the developer's support website. But no matter what they are, they are developed with a single purpose: to help you learn the capabilities of the program, and solve problems yourself.

How to access built-in help

Accessing built-in help couldn't be easier. For example, Adobe Photoshop Elements has a Help menu with a variety of options, some of which are simply links to a page Adobe support, and they will open in your browser, while other options will open within the program itself.

And some programs have a help button, which is usually located in the upper right corner of the window. For example, Microsoft Office 2013 has a small icon with a question mark that opens a help file.

Help Features

Help files can be organized in a variety of forms, including a table of contents, FAQ, or data lookup.

The word 2013 help window looks roughly the same as the search engine with a search bar. Just type keywords in the search bar and you will get topics related to keywords that you entered.

Built-in help can be very useful, but not always. If you can't find what you're looking for or don't understand what you found, you can always ask someone who knows for help, do a Google search, or contact support. It may take a little more time and effort, but by solving your problem, you will gain valuable skill and experience and thereby be able to help other users with a similar problem.
